Once you have been accepted to the university and program you applied for and received your ACCEPTANCE LETTER, you can enroll at the university. Enrollment dates vary for each university, and if you do not complete your DEFINITIVE REGISTRATION with the required documents by the announced date, your enrollment will be canceled. The required documents must be complete, and definitive registration must be completed at the relevant department of the university on the registration date. Among these documents, the most important one is the EQUIVALENCY CERTIFICATE. This document recognizes the school you attended and your grades. It must be obtained before coming to Turkey. No. Receiving the acceptance letter does not mean you are a student of that university. If you do not go to the university and register with your documents on the definite registration date, you will lose your right.
You can apply online through the website of the Turkish Ministry of National Education. To apply online, you need to have obtained a Residence Permit and a Foreigner Identification Number starting with 99. Then, you need to attend the appointment with the required documents.
High school equivalence applications abroad are made through the Overseas Education Attachés of the Turkish Ministry of National Education.
They request documents from you during the equivalence certificate application process and conduct a review, which can take several weeks or even months.
Many universities provide a grace period for definite registration since the equivalence certificate may not be issued immediately. However, some universities do not allow definite registration.
