YÖS APPLICATION AND PROGRAM PREFERENCE SERVICE
In Turkey, the exam used by foreign nationals to apply to universities is called YÖS (Foreign Student Exam).
The score obtained from the Foreign Student Exam is referred to as the YÖS Score. Each university conducts this exam on dates, in centers, and with fees determined by the university itself. Based on the score obtained, foreign students make their preferences during the application period specified in the university's foreign student application calendar. Last year, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) decided it was appropriate to conduct a "Central YÖS" / "TR YÖS" exam, and it is expected that eventually this exam score will be valid for all universities, with other exams being phased out and replaced by a single exam. You can take the YÖS exam for as many universities as you wish to assess yourself. Later, the universities for application are determined, and applications are made according to the foreign student application calendar of the universities. During the application process, program preferences are also made, and results are awaited. Similarly, the results are announced on the date specified in the foreign student application calendar, and final registration procedures are completed.
